ABOUT ERIN

Erin Somerset is a certified Jikiden Reiki Shihan (Teacher) and practitioner of Jin Shin Jyutsu, based in North County San Diego.. As a full-time energy practitioner, Erin offers a deeply personalized and grounded approach to healing. Her calm presence, intuitive awareness, and deep respect for traditional methods create a space where clients feel safe, seen, and supported.

Erin’s path to healing work began in a time of personal challenge—while caring for her mother through cancer. During chemotherapy appointments, she encountered Reiki for the first time at the cancer treatment center. Witnessing its effects sparked a profound realization: emotional, mental, and spiritual stress—if left unaddressed—can manifest in the physical body as illness. This insight led her to explore energy work more deeply, beginning with Reiki.

After six years practicing and teaching Western Reiki, Erin discovered Jikiden Reiki in 2016—a lineage-based, traditional form of Reiki preserved in Japan and untouched by Western influence. It immediately resonated as a return to the source. She trained under Frank Arjava Petter, Vice President of the Jikiden Reiki Institute, and Tadao Yamaguchi, the Institute’s President and son of Chiyoko Yamaguchi. In 2018, she became a certified Shihan (Teacher), the 403rd worldwide.

In addition to Jikiden Reiki, Erin incorporates the art of Jin Shin Jyutsu, a gentle yet powerful Japanese healing modality that uses light touch on specific points to harmonize energy pathways. She deeply values the self-help techniques within Jin Shin Jyutsu and Reiki, empowering clients with tools they can use outside of sessions to support their own healing and well-being.

Her work is rooted in a holistic philosophy—balancing body, mind, and spirit through energy work, meditation, and spiritual awareness. Clients often leave sessions with a greater sense of clarity, energetic alignment, and emotional peace. Erin is passionate about helping people not just feel better, but also reconnect with their own capacity to heal.
